He’s made some cutting comments over the years, but soccer legend Roy Keane was on the receiving end of some close cuts today.
The former Manchester United and Ireland captain, and former Ireland assistant manager, appeared at a local barber shop on the north side of Cork City to show support for its owners, sisters Murphy, Estelle, Hayley and Ciara, who reopened their 3 Degrees. hairdresser in Blackpool earlier this week after a September arson.
Estelle, who is on maternity leave right now after giving birth to a baby boy, Tommy, just a few days ago, said he showed up just after 5 p.m. and Hayley gave him a scissor cut.
They said their visit marked the end of a hectic week.
“What a whirlwind we’ve had in the last few days. It has been possibly one of the best weeks of our lives to date, ”they said.
“We would like to show a lot of appreciation to our staff because they work as hard as we do.
“It means a lot to us to relive and create our dreams.”
His classroom was destroyed in a fire on September 18, leaving 13 people without work.
But thanks in large part to the support of her father, Paul Murphy, Keane’s first cousin, the salon was repaired, renovated and reopened earlier this week.
Since then, a man has appeared in court, charged in connection with the arson.
