When Noah, a fifth grader at Dunderrow Elementary School near Kinsale, wrote a letter earlier this term to his hero Roy Keane, he probably hoped that someday in the future he would meet him.
The letter was answered by the former Manchester United and Ireland captain, and yesterday Roy stopped by Noah’s school on an incredible surprise Christmas visit.
“The kids and staff were in awe and listened carefully to what Roy had to say about his career. An inspiration to all the young people who say you can achieve anything with hard work,” Dunderrow National School staff wrote on the site. school website.
Over the past month, Roy has made repeated trips to his hometown.
In November she stopped by Penny Dinners to support the great work volunteers are doing to help the underprivileged.
And earlier this month, Roy stopped by the Three Degrees Hair salon in Blackpool after they reopened after an arson attack earlier in the year.
So you better watch out for Roy and he is bringing much needed holiday cheer and words of encouragement.
As the lyrics of the song say, it was “pure Roy Keane”.
