A village in Co Roscommon has completed a community Covid-19 rapid testing pilot program, with 150 residents participating over a six-week period.
The program, which is part of the ROQU Group’s Health Passport Ireland pilot, was carried out in Lecarrow.
It involved a clinical team conducting weekly tests at a self-service facility, which was set up on the grounds of the village church.
Volunteers who participated received their test results within 15 minutes via their Health Passport app, which was then followed by a phone call from the on-site physician.
More than 1,000 rapid tests were performed, detecting seven positive cases, all asymptomatic.
