Roberto Firmino leaves and Diogo Jota starts as Liverpool confirmed for the Atalanta clash

Diogo Jota starts in place of Roberto Firmino for Liverpool on their trip to Atalanta in the Champions League.

Rhys Williams makes his first start in Europe’s premier competition as Joe Gomez’s teammate at the rear for Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Curtis Jones maintains his place in midfield three alongside captain Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum as Klopp looks to clinch three straight wins in Group D tonight.

Jota is named in the top three alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane as he aspires to become the second Liverpool player to score in his first two Champions League starts after Robbie Keane in 2008.

Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson round out Liverpool’s five running backs with an 11-man bench that includes Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi and Naby Keita, who returned to training earlier this week.

Joel Matip, who has not played since the Merseyside derby in mid-October, is also on the bench alongside Academy graduates Caoimhin Kelleher, Jake Cain and Neco Williams.
