The IRFU has confirmed that Irish center Garry Ringrose will miss the remainder of the fall international window after sustaining a broken jaw in last weekend’s win over Italy in Dublin.
The Leinster center collided with Italy midfielder Paolo Garbisi while attempting to block a kick in the 27th minute and was recalled by an HIA.
In addition to the crucial Six Nations clash with France, Ringrose will also play Wales, England and Georgia in the inaugural Fall Nations Cup next month.
Meanwhile, John Cooney has been called up to the Irish squad as cover ahead of Saturday’s trip to Paris, where Andy Farrell can claim the Six Nations title with an extra points victory.
The Ulster scrum-half was not selected for last weekend’s win over Italy, but Leinster’s Jamison Gibson-Park, who made his international debut off the bench against the Azzurri, has a tight hamstring.
Munster winger Keith Earls is about to return from a back injury and could also join the team this week.
