A yellow rain status warning has been issued for Donegal, and the rest of the country is set for drier weather.

The rain advisory is in effect for North County as of noon Saturday and is in effect for 24 hours.

Met Éireann warned: “From noon on Saturday to noon on Sunday, it is possible for 25 to 35mm rain.”

The forecaster said the warning would be further updated before noon on Saturday.

The rest of the country should see drier weather on Saturday with Munster and Leinster set for “good spells of sunshine.”

Met Éireann added that “it will be cloudier further north with rains in the northwest in the morning and persistent rain in northern Ulster in the late afternoon.”

Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 18 degrees.

Sunday is set to be “dry and warmer in many areas.”

Met Éireann said warm conditions could continue “into the first days of next week.”

However, they added that “the risk of torrential rains or longer rains will always be present.”

Sunday could see highs of 22 degrees with moderate to cool south to southwest winds.
