Nadia Power continued her incredible form at the end of the season by running her second fastest time above 800 meters to claim gold at the Continental Tour Gold meeting in Zagreb tonight.
Eight days after setting her personal best and a new Irish U23 record in Italy, the DCU student ran an excellent time of 2.02.08, finishing with more than half a second to spare over Sweden’s Hanna Hermansson.
Power, a 2019 European U23 medalist, was .31 of a second off his posted time last week, breaking the Irish U23 record that Aoife Byrne had held since 2001. His third fastest time in the distance was sandwiched between the two races, in the PTS Meeting in Slovakia on Friday.
In another place of the night Thomas barr found form in an interrupted year to record the best of his season in the 400 meter hurdles.
The Ferrybank AC man ran 50.00, while the 1,500m men’s national champion Paul robinson it also marked his best time of the year.
On a competitive field, he ran a time of 3.38.26 to finish in 10th place.
