Years of hair gel and peroxide ended up on the Late Late Show studio floor tonight when the Jedward twins shaved off their signature blonde locks to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society.
29-year-old twins John and Edward Grimes from Lucan helped raise 2.6 million euros during the charity’s annual Narcissus Day fundraiser. The couple were more than happy to please as part of a Narcissus Day special on the late-night chat show.
“This is the adult Jedward,” Edward said when he felt the shock of his freshly severed head.

A few seconds earlier, when his brother was wielding the electric razor, he said goodbye to his trademark locks.

John, meanwhile, said the brothers, whose mother Susanna died of cancer in 2019, said they were happy to shave their hair in solidarity with those fighting cancer.
“For everyone with cancer, you are not alone. Everyone goes through cancer and has stories to tell. Our grandfather had lung cancer and lived for 20 years with a lung and had skin cancer, ”he said.
“We just want to thank the entire country for the donation. Such is the unity that the country needs at this time and it is a great cause and it is a stimulating feeling to be here right now, “he said.
The twins performed a rendition of “True Colors” on the show before cutting off their signature hair.
At the time of their mother’s passing, the twins said on Twitter: “You shaped the character of who we are. Mammy lived with cancer for many years, but she was always full of life! You live in our memories and you will always be alive in our hearts. “
“We are hopeful that the funds raised will contribute to a cancer-free future,” they said. “We are honoring the memory of all who have come and gone, we are sending strength and love to all who suffer.”
