Passengers lucky to escape serious injuries when Luas collides with a car in Tallaght

Luas’ services in Dublin were suspended Sunday afternoon after a tram collided with a car near a stop in West Dublin.

The terrifying incident occurred this afternoon near the Cheeverstown stop on Katherine Tynan Road in Tallaght.

The Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene where, fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

Services were suspended between Saggart and Belgard on the Red Line when the accident was resolved, but have since resumed tonight.

“Gardaí attended the scene of a traffic collision between a car and a tram this afternoon in the Cheeverstown area of ​​Dublin,” a Garda spokesperson told Dublin Live.

“The scene has since been cleared.

“No serious injuries have been reported at this stage.”
