Arsenal have been strongly linked to the Atlético player, who has a buyout clause of around £ 45 million (€ 50 million), this summer, but the Gunners have yet to secure his services.

However, an early Monday report from David Ornstein on The athletic stated that Arsenal were prepared to comply with its release clause.

And now journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Partey is ‘flying to London’ to complete a move towards the Gunners.

He added that the “Atlético de Madrid board of directors received the notification from Arsenal 1 hour ago” for Partey.

Arsenal are ‘ready to activate the buyout clause’ and then it will be a ‘race against time’ to seal the move with Lucas Torreira going the other way on loan.
