Only Fools and Horses star Nicolas Lyndhurst broke his silence after the tragic death of his 19-year-old son Archie early last month. Emergency services called the home last week on September 22, where Archie was pronounced dead. On Thursday it was confirmed that the young actor had passed away after a brief illness. An investigation into his death will take place next week.

Archie followed in the footsteps of his actor father and found fame on the CBBC series ‘So Awkward’. Heartbroken Nicholas has now posted a reading statement:

“Lucy and I are completely distressed and we respectfully request privacy.”

Archie had been dating his So Awkward co-star Nethra Tilakumara for over a year. She has yet to comment on the heartbreaking death of her boyfriend.

Archie’s mother, Lucy, shared the news of her son’s death in an emotional tribute writing, “He will love you and take care of you forever.”

His message was in response to Game of Thrones star Samuel Small’s tribute to Archie.

Her close friend Sophia Dall’Aglio also confirmed the news and shared her devastation writing: “Dear Archie, I find it impossible to be writing this, I am still waiting for you to call me and tell me that it is a horrible joke. How unfair that you go and join us. leave here without you.

“You were one of the funniest and most aspirational people I have ever met, but also the most embarrassing and irritating, and that is precisely why I love you. I pray to always remember the sound of your voice, your laugh, your smile. grateful to have nothing but happy memories of us to remember.

“You were the light in the room, even on a bad day, and you brought us all together. True, things won’t be the same without you, but while you were here you did nothing but your best to make people happy.

“The biggest heart I have ever known, thank you so much for changing my life in the 7 years we spent together. I am very grateful.”

She continued, “My most regret is not telling you that I loved you every day and I hope you left us knowing anyway.

“Never ever forgotten, and always and forever in our hearts. Sophia.”

Speaking to the Gaurdian in 2015, Nicholas spoke about his son’s decision to pursue acting:

“I can’t offer any advice other than please don’t.”

He said, Archie replied, “Dad, I just want to entertain people.”

Sharing the idea with his wife, Nicholas added: “I told Lucy, ‘If I ever hear him say the f-word, famous, the deal is off, he never did. He’s filming his second series for CBBC, So Awkward, Hopefully I would have been as good as him at his age. “
