New alcohol-free Guinness courtesy cans recalled here ‘due to possible presence of mold’

LOTS OF THE new non-alcoholic version of Guinness are being recalled in Ireland due to “possible presence of mold in products,” said the Food Safety Authority (FSAI).

In a statement, the FSAI said the lots involved have not been sold directly to consumers in Ireland.

However, a small number of the lots were made available free of charge.

Yesterday, Diageo said it was recalling cans of non-alcoholic stout in Britain amid safety concerns over microbiological contamination.

Guinness 0.0 launched last month amid much fanfare after a four-year development process.

The batches affected by the withdrawal of the FSAI have expiration dates before August 8, 2021, August 9, 2021, August 17, 2021 and August 24, 2021.

The FSAI added that the possible presence of mold “can make the products dangerous to drink.”
