Gardai is investigating the discovery of a body in “unexplained circumstances” on a national highway in the early hours of this morning.
The grim discovery by a man in his 40s was made on the N3 at the Snugborough Road Bridge in Blanchardstown, west of Dublin, at 3.30am on Monday.
The man was later pronounced dead at James Connolly Memorial Hospital.
Gardai is calling for witnesses and road users with dash cameras to come forward.
A Garda statement read: “Gardaí is investigating all circumstances following the discovery of a body in unexplained circumstances on the N3, at the Snugborough Road bridge.
Gardaí attended the scene at approximately 3:30 am after the body of a man was reported to be lying unconscious in the area.
“The man in his 40s was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
“Gardaí is asking for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
“Gardaí is also attractive to any road user who may have camera footage (including dash cam) that were on Snugboroguh road or traveling on the N3 between 1:00 am and 3:30 am to that Gardaí have it available.
