Dublin pulled away in the second half of Leinster’s U-20 hurling semifinal at Netwatch Cullen Park after they led 0-8 to 0-7 at halftime.

In a tight first half, Dublin’s corner forward Liam Murphy hit home for his team, scoring four points from play and three from set balls. Donal Leavy also shot over one point, but Wexford’s forwards appeared to be more balanced with Ross Banville scoring three points, including two free, while other Wexford forwards, David Codd, Conor Mahoney and Sean O’Connor (2) all they raised white flags. . At the break, the Dubs led 0-8 to 0-7 and had good value by that one-point margin.

They increased the pressure in the second half, but it took a moment of good luck to finally turn the game in their favor, when goalkeeper Eddie Gibbons saw his long-range freefall under the bar for a goal midway through the second period.

Wexford trailed by nine points at that stage but rallied for his own triple through Glen Murphy. It was never going to be enough and more points from Murphy, Liam Dunne and Kevin Redmond saw Dublin make their way into the decisive provincial.
