Police have opened a murder investigation after a teenager tragically died of injuries after an altercation Saturday night in Enniskillen.
The 18-year-old was being treated for his injuries at the hospital when he died Monday morning.
The altercation had involved several men brandishing weapons, according to the PSNI.
A 19-year-old man was arrested but has since been released on bail.
“It was reported that there was an altercation on the street involving several men brandishing weapons,” the PSNI said.
‘Police attended the scene and found two men, including the man who sadly passed away and another man, 24, who had suffered leg injuries and who were subsequently hospitalized.
“Another man involved in the incident is believed to have left the scene before officers arrived.”
Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell has asked the public to assist in the investigation.
“Tragically, this morning, the 18-year-old male victim passed away in the hospital and I want to express my condolences to the victim’s family, friends and loved ones at this very sad time,” he said.
“Our investigation continues this morning, and I appeal to the public to help us establish exactly what happened and who was involved.”
