The star of the hit show Mrs Brown’s Boys, Brendan O’Carroll, is reportedly being sued by one of his former co-stars. It’s all smiles on screen, but apparently there were hidden problems behind the scenes of the much-loved show.

Gary Hollywood, who previously played Dino Doyle before leaving the show earlier this year, announced that he will take legal action against the BBC for ‘workplace discrimination’ according to reports.

Hollywood feels that he was not “paid equally” and promises that “he will not be treated like this,” reports the Irish Mirror.

The legendary Irish man is best known for playing Agnes Brown in Mrs Brown’s Boys, and is now facing allegations of constructive dismissal and workplace discrimination following a disagreement over equal pay with fellow actor and former co-star Gary.

Gary, 41, spoke to The Daily Star and explained his situation: “I feel like they don’t pay me equally and they don’t give me an explanation for the decisions.

“When I tried to figure it out, nothing was done. They just ignored me. But I won’t tolerate it anymore. They won’t treat me like that. This has gone too far. They shouldn’t do this to people.

“I am taking legal action. The papers have been submitted to a court and the process has already started.

The actor added that he is certain he was paid less than his co-stars for the spinoff show All Round To Mrs Brown’s.

He claims that when he asked bosses about pay, they fired him from the 2020 Christmas special.

The television star claimed that he is not being “greedy” and just wants to be “compensated for the times I have not been paid fairly.”

She sadly added that despite feeling like there was “bullying” during her time on the show, she had seen Brendan as a “father figure” and a “mentor.”
