Mrs Brown’s Boys is set for more legal drama as a second star is reportedly preparing to sue.

The Daily Star Sunday reports that Damien McKiernan is preparing to take legal action over allegations of unfair dismissal, intimidation and discrimination.

McKiernan, who played Rory, left the show in the fall alongside her co-star Gary Hollywood, who was her on-screen boyfriend, Dino Doyle.

An informant from the show told the publication: “Damien has decided to take legal action.

“He doesn’t feel like he’s been treated fairly and wants justice …

“Damien is devastated. The decision to remove him from the show came out of nowhere.

“He doesn’t feel it was fair and they didn’t give him an adequate explanation.

“He thinks the way they’ve treated him is awful, so he wants to act.”

McKiernan, 54, who played Rory Brown, reportedly made a formal complaint to BBC bosses after he was apparently banned from the show, starring Brendan O’Carroll, in October.

The newspaper reports that it decided to take legal action after failing to achieve a proper resolution.

An insider added to the Daily Star: “This is a nightmare for Brendan. All the interest is in what happens off the screen.”

The news comes just days after Hollywood said it was taking legal action against the BBC.

He said he feels he was not “paid equally” and promises that “he will not be treated like this.”

Hollywood told The Daily Star: “I feel like they don’t pay me equally and they don’t give me an explanation for decisions.

“When I tried to figure it out, nothing was done. They just ignored me. But I won’t tolerate it anymore.

“They won’t treat me like that. This has gone too far. They shouldn’t do this to people.

“I am taking legal action. The documents have been presented to a court and the process has already started.”

Gary claimed that he was not paid as much as others on set for the spin-off show All Round To Mrs Brown’s and claimed he was fired from the 2020 Christmas special after asking bosses about the money issue.
