Today 859 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Ireland, while another four deaths were confirmed.
The health department confirmed the news, meaning that 56,108 cases in total have now been confirmed here since the start of the pandemic.
There have been a total of 1,882 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.
A worrying 148 of the cases today occurred in Cork, while Dublin was the only county with more, having 192.
Of the cases reported today;
- 415 are men / 441 are women
- 62% are under 45
- The average age is 35 years.
- 192 in Dublin, 148 in Cork, 58 in Donegal, 55 in Galway, 54 in Monaghan, with 352 cases spread across the remaining 21 counties.

As of 2:00 p.m. today, 315 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 37 are in the ICU. There have been 16 additional hospitalizations in the last 24 hours.
