More club championship matches in Galway and Cork have been postponed due to Covid-19 concerns.
The Galway IFC semi-final between Cortoon Shamrocks and Dunmore MacHales was called off today just an hour before kick-off due to a player from one of the teams “coming into close contact with a suspected Covid 19 case.”
Last night’s Galway SHC semi-final between reigning champions St Thomas’ and Cappataggle was also postponed after a player tested positive while the county junior and senior camouflage finals were canceled earlier in the week.

The county intermediate soccer semifinal between Dunmore McHales and Cortoon Shamrocks to be played this afternoon at Tuam Stadium at 2 pm has been canceled. The second game starts at 5 pm– Galway GAA (alGalway_GAA) September 20, 2020
A second quarter-final of the Cork SFC will also be played.
Today’s Newcestown against St Finbarr’s match has been tentatively re-arranged for Tuesday evening and Newcestown is reportedly awaiting Covid test results.
The round of 16 meeting between Ballincollig and Nemo Rangers was postponed on Thursday after a positive test at Ballincollig camp.
