Liverpool will face Leeds United in the opening match of the new 2020-21 Premier League campaign at Anfield on Saturday.
The Whites achieved promotion to the Premier League last season after winning the Championship title from Marcelo Bielsa. They are returning to the top flight of English football after a 16-year gap.
The Premier League champions, on the other hand, will be looking to become the fourth team to defend their league title, but the Reds are expected to face stiff competition from both clubs Manchester and Chelsea.
Before the game, former Liverpool striker turned popular soccer expert Michael Owen has shared his prediction for the match.
Owen says Marcelo Bielsa’s team is entertaining to watch. He feels it will be an entertaining match between the two old rivals, but he likes that Liverpool come out on top with a 3-1 win.
“It’s always a tough way to start a new campaign, but this time I don’t think the game should have too many fears for Liverpool,” Owen told Bet Victor.
“I am looking forward to seeing Leeds this season because I love the way they do their business and I think one thing that we can guarantee with Marcelo Bielsa’s team is entertainment.
“I’m actually looking for an entertaining game in this clash of old rivals, but I’m looking forward to Liverpool leading the way with a 3-1 win at Anfield.”
It has once again been a quiet summer transfer window for Liverpool, with Greek left-back Konstantinos Tsimikas being the only transfer made by the club so far.
Leeds, for their part, have been very impressive in the transfer market. Rodrigo and Robin Koch have arrived as Leeds’ two most prominent additions and the club is working to bring in more new faces.
