Met Eireann has updated its weather warnings for eight counties as a storm approaches.
Three alerts are currently scheduled to go into effect tonight and Saturday for Galway, May, Kerry, Clare, Cork, Waterford, Wexford and Donegal.
Two yellow wind status warnings will begin in the south and west of the country after 10 p.m. tonight, before the yellow rain status warning begins Saturday morning.
Meteorologists have warned that both Galway and Mayo will suffer the worst of the high winds.
