Met Eireann Issues Multiple Weather Warnings for 8 Counties as Stormy Weather Moves Towards Ireland

Met Eireann has issued multiple weather advisories for Friday night and Saturday as storm conditions loom.

The forecaster has released three advisories for eight counties ahead of wet and windy weather.

All three alerts are yellow at this time with the west and south of the country ready to be attacked by the weather front.

Here is a summary of the three caveats so far;

Yellow Rain Warning – Galway and May

Time: Friday 10pm – Saturday 9am

Details: Rain from Friday night to Saturday morning will cause accumulations of 20-40mm, with accumulations higher in mountainous areas. This will bring with it a risk of localized flooding and an increased risk of flash flooding in mountainous areas.

Yellow Wind Warning – Donegal, Mayo, Galway, Clare, Kerry

Time: Friday 10pm – Saturday 7am

Details: Winds from south to southwest will reach average speeds of 50 to 65 km / h with gusts of 90 to 110 km / h. Wind speeds can be higher in coastal and exposed areas.

Yellow Wind Warning – Wexford, Cork, Waterford

Time: midnight Saturday – Saturday 11 am

Details: Winds from south to southwest will reach average speeds of 50 to 65 km / h with gusts of 90 to 110 km / h. Wind speeds can be higher in coastal and exposed areas.
