Meghan Markle itó screamed at Kate Middleton’s staff ’and tensions grew between the royal wives after the Duchess of Sussex had to accept that she would not marry the next king, according to a new memory.
Various incidents during Meghan’s first months of being a member of the royal family allegedly caused the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to move out of Kensington Palace and move to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
At first, couples were believed to get along, particularly Kate and Meghan after the Duchess of Cambridge went out of her way to make the former actress feel as welcome as possible.
But in a new memoir written by Tom Quinn and serialized by the Daily Mail, an inside source at the palace claims that tensions are bound to arise between the two young royal couples, especially when Meghan had to accept that she was not married to a man who would become king.
They added: “Being a member of royalty comes to everyone’s head eventually, and after a while, William and Harry would find themselves without their wives in tow to avoid stony lines and silences.”
From there, things went from bad to worse.
The source claimed that the initial transfer of Harry and Meghan to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor was triggered when Meghan yelled at a Kate staff member.
And the Duchess of Cambridge was said to be appalled at Meghan’s approach.
The source stated: “Like many people who are not used to dealing with servants, Meghan exaggerates imperiosity; so on the one hand, he wants to be like Diana, the princess of a town, and on the other, he wants people to stand up when they click their fingers. “
The incident is believed to have sparked discussions about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex leaving Kensington Palace.
Meghan’s attitude towards the staff soon led to a series of unflattering nicknames, including Me-Gain ‘, the’ Duchess of the Difficult ‘and even’ Di 2 ‘or’ Di Lite ‘, reportedly.
Many of the staff, who did not know what to do with the American Duchess, seemed relieved when she and Harry moved in, according to Mr. Quinn’s book.
It meant that a completely renovated house in Kensington Palace was left completely unused.
Taxpayers also spent more than £ 2 million to work at the cabin where the Sussex moved in, though Harry and Meghan have said they will pay that after leaving that property in favor of a life in Los Angeles.
Harry and Meghan made the announcement earlier this year, revealing that they would walk away from their prominent roles in the royal family to spend more time on the other side of the pond.
The couple has recently been discovered in Los Angeles, delivering packages to vulnerable families who are forced to isolate themselves.
Mirror Online approached Kensington Palace and representatives of Harry and Meghan for comment.
