Following a 3-0 defeat to Germany in Saturday’s Euro 2022 qualifier, attention has quickly turned to next month’s clash against Ukraine and the importance of converting opportunities when they arise, according to the Republic captain. from Ireland, Katie McCabe.

“We started the game very, very well, we went up 2-0, but then some of our mistakes really cost us and we conceded,” he recalls.
“Next month is about eliminating those mistakes and making sure we are in the last third to score goals.”
The Irish did not fit in in the second half against the Germans, something to get out of the game. The skipper was satisfied with the effort and added: “I am very proud of the efforts of the girls. The coaching staff were our eyes from above and we did well, closing the lines and the gaps between defense and midfield.”
“I am very happy with our performance in the second half, as we don’t fit in anymore. We will take that confidence and that month better next month.”
