May GAA posted a surplus of € 216,847 for 2020 after the success of commercial activity focused on its transmission service, as well as significant government support and a drastic reduction in the cost of preparing equipment.
Income for the 12-month period was 2,310,471 euros, compared to expenses of 2,093,624 euros.
Equipment costs for 2020 were € 721,862 compared to € 1,714,722 in 2019, a reduction of € 992,860
The accounts end on October 31, so it does not include the end of this football season that lasts until next Sunday. Mayo played his first soccer championship game on November 1.
Revenues at the door decreased by € 582,550 to € 394,460.
Fundraising was reduced by just € 29,750 from € 427,857 to € 398,107.
It was business revenue that kept finances on track in the county, rising by € 79,063 to € 542,947 “primarily as a result of Mayo GAA TV,” according to the county board.
Financial aid from the state and Croke Park amounted to € 330,209, which led to May posting the year’s surplus.
Mayo’s footballers will play in Dublin next Saturday in the All-Ireland football final.
