“It was very intentional,” he says.

“I decided to stop what I was doing. I said ‘no’ to romantic comedies. After 20 months of zero job, zero offers, wondering if I would ever work in the industry again, I became a new idea.”

McConaughey also talks about his parents’ tumultuous relationship.
