Matt Damon in Dublin: Popular Instagram mom wrote an apology letter after Dalkey’s image of the actor leaked

A Dublin mother has admitted that she is the one behind the famous Matt Damon, a photo of the Supervalu bag that says it ‘leaked’ in a family group on WhatsApp.

As everyone knows, the actor has been quarantined at Dalkey since March and has been greeted as a new venue with loving arms.

While the star remained silent, a photo circulated online showing the Contagion and The Departed star smiling and holding a SuperValu bag.

Well, Siobhan Berry, from the popular Instagram site mummycooks, has admitted that she was the one behind the photo and, despite a pact between her and her husband to keep her quiet, it leaked into a family group chat.

Feeling so bad about the leak, he even revealed that he wrote an apology letter to the actor.

She said, “The day we met Matt Damon! You may have seen this photo doing the rounds lately. Initially, we had no intention of sharing the photo, but now that Matt has been laughing and talking on the radio about it, I thought I would tell you how I got to take this photo.

“We went swimming with the family and we met Matt and his family. Everything was very good, nobody else around … only he (and my family) enjoyed the ice water and laughed! We all left, very politely asked a photo, leaning with his Supervalu bag while keeping the social distance!

“As confirmed on the radio, I was holding a bag of bath linens and towels, not cans! Both my husband and I agreed not to share the photo publicly, but a few days later it leaked through a WhatsApp family group and! Boom! It was then on all social media. We feel terrible and we really feel sorry for the whole situation; we wrote him an apology letter but we were never able to deliver it. After listening to it on the radio today, you obviously see the fun side and the fact of that the photo eventually became one of the early summer feel-good stories. “

She added: “While we never intended for the photo to leak anywhere, we were delighted that so many people, including Matt, got so much entertainment out of the result. And the result?
The Irish were delighted to receive such a kind and globally respected actor and activist to live among us while enjoying their privacy and one of the few good things the virus has produced: a hassle-free and precious time with their family in a country that respects and appreciates the important things in life.

“Also, my daughters Ashleigh and Jessica (ages 9 and 11) learned a very valuable lesson. Now they see how something private can go viral and get out of control quickly. Anyway, everything is fine and that ends well.”

The famous actor finally broke his silence in Ireland with an in-depth interview on a popular Irish radio station yesterday.

Fully loaded on Spin 103.8 with Graham and Nathan he had been hunting the famous actor from day one and finally got his man on Wednesday morning.

The 49-year-old man spoke highly of the ‘beautiful Dalkey’, called Leo Varadkar a ‘rude’ and revealed that his oldest daughter contracted the cruel coronavirus while they were thousands of miles away in the highly anticipated chat.

After weeks of searching the internet and the suburb to locate the actor, it turns out that he had wanted to contact the duo long before.

He said, “It’s kind of my fault [for it being so long]. I heard you on the radio like a month ago. I’m sorry I shouldn’t have put you through all of that [effort].

“I heard you talk about locating me one day in March, I was trying to memorize the number to call but then I started talking to my wife and forgot.

“One day she said ‘have you called yet? You are such an idiot, just look up their number and you don’t need to wait for them to say it on the air.’

“I had also made an appointment with Bono. He said, ‘You know there is a radio station that is looking for you,’ and I thought I really had to track down those guys.”

Matt said he had arrived in Dublin just before the restrictions came in March, but he complimented Dalkey by saying he couldn’t think of a better place to be locked up.

He continued: “I arrived before closing. I’m in the middle of a movie, we filmed the first half in France and we rested in Ireland, but the movie closed in early March.

“Dalkey is amazing, it is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. We feel guilty for having this amazing stage in this place. It is absolutely wonderful.”

“They said that you could only travel 2 km, but 2 km from here there are trees, forest and ocean, I couldn’t think of where you would prefer to be.”

Matt was very proud to become one of Dalkey’s own and had heard rumors of his strong support against a New York Times journalist who was trying to spot information on a local Facebook group about his time there.

“I heard this story. I had no idea that this was all happening behind the scenes. It’s amazing.

The actor described Killiney Hill as “insane and like a fairy tale” and mentioned some places in the suburb he has visited.

“The first few days we were here we went to a bookstore, but unfortunately everything is closed, so it’s limited [where we can go].

“There is still a lovely open coffee place. The barista said, ‘Usually this place is really bustling, but I’ve actually met my clients lately because we have time to chat,’ which I thought was great.”

The American actor also revealed what was in that red SuperValu bag, an iconic image of Matt in Dalkey that appeared online from the start.

He said, “That bag, we only had towels. He was with the kids and we were bathing in the water.

“We just grab our SuperValu bags and pack them with beach towels and so on.

He dodged the question of buying a Dalkey vacation home, but said he will definitely return.

“I’ll be back anyway whenever the world fights back. I have eight weeks of filming to wait. We really want to move on, but [Dalkey] It wouldn’t be a bad place to end … we’ll have a beer when I get back. “

And in a compliment we are very sure that the Taoiseach never reached his term in office, Matt said that Leo Varadkar was a “rude”.

“You have a president who just goes to the hospital and starts working, I mean, how rude, he’s on another level”

Speaking about her daughter’s ordeal with COVID-19, she added: Our oldest daughter is in college, obviously that has been closed. He’s in New York City and had very early COVID along with his roommates and he got through it well.

“We will go back to Los Angeles and she will leave, so we will all be together and find out what the hell we are going to do. It is such a strange limbo that we are all inside.”
