27 ′ – Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool
Liverpool almost fell apart on the counter again!
Rashford is back in oceans of space behind Alexander-Arnold, runs to Williams and passes the ball for van de Beek, but Alisson deflects the ball.

26 ′ – GOAL! Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool (Greenwood)
Aaaa and out of nowhere, United is level!
Pogba recovers the ball on the edge of United’s box, and Rashford throws a perfect cross pass from the touchline to Greenwood, who passes the ball past Alisson!

24 ′ – Man United 0-1 Liverpool
Alexander-Arnold takes the free kick meekly over the bar.

23 ′ – Manchester United 0-1 Liverpool
Their all Liverpool now, while Firmino is cut by McTominay right on the edge of the area.

21 ′ – Manchester United 0-1 Liverpool
That was a magnificent goal from Liverpool, and one of such composure that they are almost 21 ′, impossible to think that it came after such a miserable run in front of goal.
Confidence flows now: Pogba is swarmed in the traditional way, and the result is a shot by Jones from Henderson’s range.

18 ′ – GOAL! Man United 0-1 Liverpool (False)
And the drought ends!
Liverpool finally attack with some conviction and the result is a classic Liverpool goal.
Firmino falls deep and slides a perfect pass between Shaw and Maguire to Salah, who coldly borders Henderson.

17 ′ – Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool
Rashford seems electric: he walks calmly into the box until Alexander-Arnold dispossesses him. The next corner is blown into goal by Pogba, but it’s a sloppy connection and easy for Alisson.

17 ′ – Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool
Liverpool holds possession for a while but lacks penetration until Robertson throws a tremendous pass through United’s defense to Milner, but Lindelof crosses and faces danger.

10 ′ – Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool
This game is more lively than last week!
Fabinho and Thiago mix in midfield, Greenwood throws himself and runs into the area. Rather than withdrawing the ball for Van de Beek, he shoots from a tight angle and an extended Alisson blocks the ball with his foot.
Liverpool fight back, and at the other end, Henderson is right to deflect an Alexander-Arnold crusader away from trouble.

8 ′ Man United 0-0 Liverpool
Milner clears Maguire with a late tackle in midfield, but the referee plays ahead and Milner escapes without a warning.

6 ′ – Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool
Rashford has moved to the left and looks lethal when running against Alexander-Arnold and Williams.
This time around, Rashford deftly kicks a ball for the first time behind the Liverpool defense, and Alisson does well to rush out of his box and head the ball out of harm’s way.
United is taking control of this game.

4 ′ – Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool
United wins a corner, while Rhys Williams blocks a falling cross for van de Beek. The move started with Salah losing possession to Shaw, and Rashford, somewhat unsettling for Liverpool, skidding over Williams with ease.
Liverpool clears the corner.

1 ′ – Man United 0-0 Liverpool
Quick start for Liverpool, with an Alexander-Arnold cut that finds Wijnaldum, whose rather tame shot is blocked by Lindelof and cleared.
We wonder how Liverpool would prepare; It looks like it’s your standard 4-3-3 with Curtis Jones on the left of attack.

Craig Pawson is the referee, and a quick reminder that there are no repeats in the FA Cup this season, so we’ll have a winner sometime tonight. Even if it takes penalties.

Peeeeep!
We’re on our way at Old Trafford!

Liverpool are the first out, in their hideous teal third kit.
United follows shortly after, the start is just a few minutes away.
This will be better than last Sunday’s game. Hopefully.

United are doing some rotation today … but there is still some pretty decent talent on the field.

“It’s one of the most iconic qualifiers in the FA Cup and it can give you a lot of boost and confidence, like it did in ’99,” Solskjaer tells the BBC before the game.

Liverpool have run out of goals, but this isn’t exactly the boldest lineup Klopp could have selected. Maybe we’ll see his traditional 4-3-3 with Curtis Jones playing to the left of the front three, or a 4-2-3-1.
Klopp has been open about finding solutions to Liverpool’s current problems; maybe you will find something that works today.

Does Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have any experience of facing Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth round?

Seen: Donny Van de Beek. The Dutchman has a rare opportunity to impress early on for United tonight, starting with a fairly strong team that includes Pogba, Greenwood, Rashford and Cavani.
Bruno Fernandes flops to the bench, where David De Gea joins – Dean Henderson has a chance to impress in goal.

Instead, Liverpool have stuck with their first-choice goalkeeper, which means Caoimhin Kelleher remains on the bench with Alisson Becker as the starter. Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino return to the starting lineup, and are the only attackers on the team with Curtis Jones, Gini Wijnaldum, Thiago and James Milner chosen behind them.
Joel Matip is out again, apparently on break rather than another injury, so Rhys Williams starts.

WELCOME TO OUR coverage of tonight’s FA Cup tie between Manchester United and Liverpool. It is a second clash of these two great rivals in the space of seven days … what a month it has been.
But we expect today’s Cup tie to be more entertaining than the league draw at Anfield a week ago. (We are sure that it will be, it cannot be much worse).
Liverpool desperately need to start their season – they have won just one of their last six games (and that was the FA Cup draw against Aston Villa’s youth team) and haven’t scored in their last four league games.
Not that today is a good omen. Liverpool have a poor record at Old Trafford with Klopp (they have never won here) and an even worse record with him in the FA Cup – only once has he led Liverpool beyond the fourth round.
Meanwhile, United are brimming with confidence and while the FA Cup might not be the highest among their priorities this season, they will relish the opportunity to further hit Liverpool’s season.
