A man wanted in connection with the horrific deaths of a young mother and her two children in Dublin has turned up at a surveillance station.
The man is now assisting officers with their investigations.
The discovery of the horror was made at Llewellyn Court, Ballinteer, shortly before 12pm on Wednesday.
The victims, a 37-year-old woman, an 11-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy, are understood to have suffered violent deaths.
Gardai is treating the three deaths as suspicious and is following a defined line of investigation, with the house where the bodies were found previously designated a crime scene.
It is understood that the deceased children sometimes went to school with other neighbors.
Residents of Llewellyn Court and nearby streets were in shock Wednesday.
Many of the locals did not know the deceased, as the family is believed to have rented the house for less than a year.
Neighbors said children were rarely seen playing in the street, but sometimes heard in the backyard.
“It’s terrible, terrible,” said a Llewellyn Park resident.
“We would not know them at all. We will leave some flowers in the next few days.
“We would see the kids in the backyard a few times.”
Blackrock Garda Station Superintendent Paul Reidy gave a brief press conference at the site.
He said: “Gardai were called here this afternoon to the place where we discovered three dead, an adult woman and two children aged 11 and six.”
“We conducted an investigation immediately. We have requested the services of the state pathologist and a full technical examination is underway.
“The scene has been preserved.
“We are treating the deaths as inexplicable at this time.”
