Gardai has released one of the men who was arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Keane Mulready Woods.
The man, in his 20s, was released without charge tonight and a file is being prepared for the Director of the Public Ministry.
The 17-year-old was brutally tortured, killed and dismembered after being kidnapped in the Ballsgriove area of Co Louth in a brutal murder that horrified the nation in January.
Parts of the teenager’s body were found by a group of teens inside a black sports bag thrown from a car on Moatview Drive in Darndale.
Two days later, his severed head was found in a burning car on Trinity Terrace, just off Clonliffe Road in Drumcondra. His torso has never recovered.
The second man, also in his 20s, remains in Garda custody at Dundalk Garda station.
Another man, in his 40s, who was arrested on the morning of Tuesday, December 8, 2020, remains in Garda custody at Drogheda Garda station.
A Garda spokeswoman said: “Investigations under way.”
