Man killed in accident between car and two jeeps in Co Donegal

A man in his 60s was killed in a collision between two jeeps and a car in Co Donegal this morning.

The incident occurred around 9.20 a.m. M. In Admiran, near Stranorlar.

The driver of the car was rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital after the collision and was in critical condition.

However, it has since been confirmed that he passed away as a result of his injuries.

Officers said an autopsy will be conducted at a later date.

No one else was injured in the horrific accident.

A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí is currently at the scene of a fatal traffic collision involving two jeeps and a car that occurred at approximately 9:20 am on Monday, November 2, 2020, in Admiran, Stranorlar , County Donegal.

“The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital in critical condition. He has since passed away as a result of his injuries.

“An autopsy will be done at a later date.

“The road is currently closed as forensic collision investigators are conducting an examination of the scene. There are local detours.

“Gardaí in Ballybofey is asking witnesses to this collision and road users to be able to have camera images (including dash cam) traveling in the area at this time so that these images are available to Gardaí.
