Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene of a work accident tonight after a man fell from an elevator.
The incident occurred around 7 pm on High Street, Co. Kilkenny.
The man whose age is unknown fell from the elevator before gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene before closing the street to help him.
Fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening, however, he was taken to St Luke’s Hospital, where he was treated after the incident.
The Health and Safety Authority has been notified and will conduct its own investigation into the incident.
A Garda spokeswoman said: “There was a workplace accident on High Street, Kilkenny tonight on Thursday 3 rd December 2020 at approximately 7 pm
“A man was injured when he fell from a cherry picker, non-life-threatening injuries, but he attended St. Luke’s Hospital with his injuries.
“The highway was closed for a short time and is due to reopen shortly and the HSA has been notified and will conduct their own investigation.”
