Man in his 40s found dead in Phibsborough home as Gardai launches investigation

The body of a man was found in a house in Phibsborough this afternoon.

The deceased, who was in his 40s, was found unconscious in a house on Auburn Street, outside the northern suburb of Dublin.

Gardai is treating the discovery as a suspect, according to RTE.

The man appears to have suffered several different injuries and may have been the victim of an assault.

The house has been cordoned off and the State Pathologist has been informed.

The body remains on the scene.

The Garda Technical Office has been called in for a technical examination.

A Garda spokeswoman said: “Gardaí is currently at the scene of an incident at a residence on Auburn Street, Dublin 7.

“The body of a man was discovered and Gardaí is investigating all the circumstances surrounding his death.

“The stage is currently preserved and the services of the Technical Office have been requested.

“The coroner and the state pathologist’s office have been notified.

“An autopsy will be carried out on the deceased, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.

“No further information is available at this time.”
