The scene was sealed pending a technical examination to be completed as the Gardai continue their investigations into what, at this time, appears to have been a tragic accident.

Investigating officers searched the local area for CCTV footage that could help them with their investigation into the incident.

It is understood, however, that the man may have been attempting to climb out of a window in an effort to gain access to his apartment when he fell.

This is believed to be one of the possibilities that Gardai is investigating.

Ennis Superintendent Brendan McDonagh confirmed that officers are pursuing a number of lines of investigation, but that at this stage, the incident appears to have been a tragic accident.

Superintendent McDonagh has asked anyone who is in the area and has observed activity in our apartment complex to come forward if they have any information that may help with the Garda investigation.

“We are following a series of lines in the investigation and we still have some questions to ask. Everything would point to a tragic accident at this time, but we will await the medical report before making a determination on it, “added Superintendent McDonagh.

The results of the post-mortem examination are not expected until Tuesday night.
