Man charged with serious assault in a pub in Baldoyle TheJournal.ie

A man in his 30s must appear in court for a serious assault in Baldoyle, north of Dublin.

Gardaí was called to the Elphin Bar on Baldoyle Road after the assault around 1 p.m. Thursday.

A man in his 50s was injured and is believed to have been stabbed.

The man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is believed to have been a recent employee of the pub.

He was detained at the Clontarf Garda station under article four of the Criminal Justice Act.

He has since been charged in connection with the incident and will appear before the Criminal Justice Courts at 10.30 am today.

The wounded man, who worked at the bar, was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment for serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to Gardaí.

Investigations are ongoing.
