Man arrested after brutal stabbing in Dublin sees woman hospitalized

A woman was rushed to a hospital in South Dublin this afternoon after a brutal assault caused her to suffer multiple stab wounds to the body.

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene of the incident, which took place in Levmoss Park, Leopardstown, a stone’s throw from a local elementary school.

The woman, in her 30s, suffered non-fatal injuries as a result of the attack, which occurred around 1:30 p.m. today.

Gardai quickly closed the scene and conducted investigations at houses in the area.

Garda officers with the technical office also conducted a forensic examination of the surroundings as part of their investigation today.

A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: “Gardai in Stepaside was called in to an alleged assault incident this afternoon.”

The spokesperson added that the victim was taken to St Vincent Hospital for treatment for her injuries.

“A man (40 years old) was arrested at the scene and taken to Dundrum GS, where he is currently detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.”

Investigations into the incident are ongoing, the spokesperson confirmed.
