A man and a woman have been arrested as part of ongoing investigations into prostitution and organized crime.
Investigations are being carried out by the Garda National Protective Services Bureau (GNPSB) targeting individuals suspected of being involved in organized prostitution, the establishment of brothels, and alleged crimes related to money laundering.
The man and woman, aged between 40 and 20 respectively, are currently detained under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at a Dublin police station.
“These arrests are important to the ongoing investigations being conducted by the Garda Office of National Protective Services into alleged organized prostitution and the establishment of brothels throughout the jurisdiction,” said Chief Superintendent of Detectives Declan Daly.
“The investigations have culminated in the significant arrests of two people who are currently detained in accordance with legislation related to organized crime,” Daly said.
“The investigations’ concerns reflect An Garda Síochána’s victim-centered approach to addressing criminality of the suspicious nature and its quest to keep people safe.”
