A man in his 70s was killed in a fatal single-vehicle collision.
The collision occurred in Killaneen, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim at 11am.
Gardaí is currently at the scene of the crash in which the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle involved suffered serious injuries and was taken to the General Hospital of Cavan.
He was pronounced dead shortly after.
An autopsy is scheduled to take place at a later date.
Forensic collision investigators are examining the scene and the road is closed with local detours.
Gardaí is calling for witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Gardaí is also attractive to road users who may have camera images (including dash cam) traveling in the area between 10:45 am and 11:15 am to make these images available to Gardaí.
