LOOK: Chaotic scenes in Oliver Bond’s apartment complex as dozens of people attend the party without masks or social distancing

This is the shocking moment when a party attended by dozens of people without masks and without social distancing dragged on late into the night in a Dublin apartment complex.

The worrying outdoor gathering took place on Oliver Bond’s flats in the southern city center as COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the capital.

Images from the party show a crowd of people who appear to show little regard for social distancing guidelines gathered in a common area of the complex.

A marquee has been set up and loud music can be heard from a DJ booth.

The embarrassing scenes appear to violate Level 3 restrictions that were put in place in Dublin on Friday in an attempt to stop the rampant spread of COVID-19 in the capital.

It is understood that the chaotic gathering lasted until 5 a.m. and residents who did not attend the party were forced to launch a massive clean-up operation this morning after the area was littered with trash.

Empty drink bottles and nitrous oxide canisters can be seen discarded all over the floor of the complex.

Dublin Live contacted gardai to comment on the troubling scenes recorded last night.

Under the restrictions, which remain in effect until at least October 10, social and family gatherings in a person’s home or garden are restricted to just six people from a single household.

Events organized outdoors are also subject to strict regulations that allow a maximum of 15 people to attend.

Gardai stepped up its presence in Dublin City and County from yesterday morning after the new restrictions were put in place.

Operation Fanacht consists of patrols and specific checkpoints to verify compliance with public health regulations.

Deputy Police and Security Commissioner John Twomey said: “As a community, we must all come together to protect ourselves and the most vulnerable once again.

“It is vital that each person do their part and adhere to public health regulations and guidelines to reduce the increasing spread of COVID-19.”
