Liverpool officials have reportedly asked the Premier League for an explanation on the use of VAR in their game against Everton. which ended 2-2.
There were two major controversies about VAR, one towards the start of the match and one towards the end.
In the first half, Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford took Virgil Van Dijk out with a seemingly dangerous tackle as he went for the ball in his own box.

The challenge could have resulted in a red card for the England international, although this did not happen as the previous opportunity was dismissed as offside.
The second controversy involving the VAR was over Jordan Henderson’s late goal. It was struck out after Sadio Mane was deemed to be standing in an offside position in goal setup.
However, at first glance it seemed that Mane was perfectly aligned with the Everton defenders.
According to the Liverpool journalist James pearce, the club has asked Prem about three things. The first is why Pickford was not sent off for his dangerously high challenge on Van Dijk.
The second is which part of Mane’s body was considered offside. The third is the selection of the VAR of the freeze frame for the disallowed goal.
After the match, BT Sport expert Jermaine Jenas questioned the freeze frame that the referees had used when calculating whether he was offside. Jenas believed that the freeze frame was taken a fraction or two late, which made Mane seem offside when in fact he wasn’t.
Prem officials have yet to answer questions from last season’s champions.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was understandably angry at full time. Talking after the game, he said: “Pickford kicks it completely. I need to look at it again. I saw the goal disallowed at the end and in the image I saw that it was not offside. Can someone explain that to me?
“I am a huge supporter of VAR but you hope they make the right decisions. I have done ten interviews and everyone has told me that he is not offside. That doesn’t lift my spirits. “
