LIVE: Harold’s Cross Bridge closed after a suspicious explosive device was discovered in the water

A bridge near the city center has been closed to traffic after an explosive device was discovered nearby.

Gardai has closed Harold’s Cross Bridge in both directions after the device was pulled out of the water.

It is understood that the device is suspected of being a grenade.

Gardai tweeted: “Harold’s Cross Bridge is currently closed in both directions to road and pedestrian traffic. Updates to follow.”
