Returning students to the Limerick Institute of Technology are expected to attend lectures, internships and tutorials on the university campus at least once a week and up to four times a week for some courses.
Students are expected to spend time on campus each week, however the number of college goers at any one time will be greatly reduced.
All students are expected to cover their faces and adhere to the LIT Covid Charter, which sets out health obligations for students and staff during a pandemic.
The students are expected to return to the university campus from September 14 and the first years from September 28.
Professor Vincent Cunnane, president of the university, said: “We believe that it is important that students have a strong connection to the institution.
“Being on campus regularly not only gives them the best possible experience, it also optimizes their learning potential.
“For this reason, a schedule will be scheduled for all students to spend time on campus each week, as tutorials and internships are primarily held on campus, while lectures are delivered remotely.”
Yesterday, the president of the Waterford Institute of Technology said that university students will be asked to pay full fees, despite their decision to teach all lectures, tutorials and practical classes off campus for the next academic year.
