Lidl Ireland is recalling over 2,000 handheld vacuum cleaners sold nationwide since September 21 due to a potential fire hazard during charging.
The warning was issued through the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission on Tuesday and says:
“Lidl Ireland is conducting a voluntary recall of its SilverCrest handheld vacuum products.”
The affected SilverCrest handheld vacuum cleaner products were sold in Lidl stores in Ireland as of September 21, 2020.

“A safety issue has been identified for which there may be a risk of fire while charging or using the product.”
“The full name of the affected product is SilverCrest SHAZ 22.2 D Handheld Vacuum. The model number is 339791_1910 and the serial number is 008602,” the advisory continues.
The model and serial numbers can be identified on the product nameplate label.
The recall affects approximately 2,204 products sold in Lidl stores in Ireland.

Lidl will now display point-of-sale posters in its stores to inform consumers of this recall.
If you believe that you have purchased this product, you should immediately stop using it and return the product and associated battery to a Lidl store, where you will be offered a full refund.
