Toy Show star Adam King has received a heartwarming letter from Micheal Martin.

The six-year-old stole the hearts of the nation when he showed Ryan Tubridy his “virtual hug” and spoke about his dream of working for NASA.

This Christmas, your virtual hug postmark will be on millions of letters delivered around the world.

And the young man from Cork has now received a letter from the Taoiseach himself, who told Adam he was “an inspiration.”

Mr Martin wrote: “In my address to the country, I thanked the children of Ireland for their strength and for the way they have all dealt with Covid.

“When I said it, I couldn’t have believed that a few hours later the country would see such a perfect example of that force on ‘The Late Late Toy Show.’

“Your virtual hug and your obvious kindness made the point better than ever.

“You are an inspiration Adam. Thank you very much for the strength you have given to all those who watch ”.

He then invited Adam on a tour of the Irish Air Corps in Baldonnel, before thanking Adam’s family and classmates, saying that they, along with the Clonpriest National School staff, were a “great team.”

He ended up wishing Adam a Merry Christmas and saying that he will personally give Santa Claus a “very good report.”
