Key points from Boris Johnson’s leadership to the UK to facilitate the blockade

After nearly two months of confinement in the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson has established what he called “the first draft of a road map for the reopening of society”.

Here are the main points:

A new Covid alert system is being established, primarily determined by the reinfection rate and the number of cases.

The alert levels will be from one to five and the higher the level, the stricter the social distancing measures must be. The Prime Minister said the UK had been at level four, but “we are now in a position to start advancing the steps to level three.”

Starting Monday, people who can’t work from home are actively encouraged to go to work instead of being told to only go if they should.
But they should avoid public transportation if possible.

Starting Wednesday, people are encouraged to do unlimited amounts of exercise outdoors and even play sports, but only with members of their household.

Visiting and sunbathing in local parks will also be allowed, as well as driving to other destinations.

But the rules of social distancing will still have to be obeyed with higher fines for those who break them.

Schools may begin reopening June 1 at the earliest along with the gradual reopening of stores.

And at least some pubs, restaurants, hotels, and other public places could start reopening in July at the latest “if and only if the numbers support it.”
