Kenny calls Christie because injury rules out Stevens

Irish defender Enda Stevens has been excluded from matches in England, Wales and Bulgaria due to injury.

Stevens will return to Sheffield United after his evaluation of the FAI medical team and Nottingham Forest defender Cyrus Christie has been called up as a replacement.

It was previously reported that Stevens would be evaluated after taking a hit to the knee in Saturday’s 4-1 loss at Chelsea.

The Ireland team reported to their service in London on Sunday and will train at the Hive, Barnet tomorrow and Tuesday before the international friendly against England on Thursday.
