British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been told to isolate himself after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19, Downing Street said.
A spokesperson for No. 10 said: “The NHS Test and Trace has notified the Prime Minister today that he should isolate himself as a contact for someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.
“The Prime Minister will follow the rules and isolate himself.
“He will continue to work from Downing Street, including leading the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“The PM is fine and does not show any symptoms of Covid-19.”
Johnson already contracted the virus earlier this year, when he had to be admitted to intensive care.
Today I was notified by the NHS Test and Trace that I need to isolate myself because I have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
I have no symptoms, but I am following the rules and will work from # 10 as I continue to lead the government’s response to the pandemic.
