British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his partner Carrie Symonds named their son Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson.

The boy is named after the couple’s grandfather and the doctors who helped save Mr. Johnson’s life while in the hospital receiving treatment for Covid-19.

Symonds posted a photo of her cradling the newborn on Instagram on Saturday, saying that “she couldn’t be happier” and that her “heart is full.”

She praised the maternity team at University College Hospital, London, whom she said “took good care of us.”

The couple announced Wednesday that Mrs. Symonds had given birth to a baby that same day.

The birth came just a few weeks after Johnson was released from intensive care where he had been battling the coronavirus.

Mrs. Symonds wrote “Introducing Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson, born 04.29.20 at 9 a.m.

“Wilfred after Boris Lawrie’s grandfather after my grandfather Nicholas after Dr. Nick Price and Dr. Nick Hart, the two doctors who saved Boris’s life last month.

“Thank you so much to the amazing NHS maternity team at UCLH who took such good care of us. I couldn’t be happier. My heart is full.”

Dr. Nicholas Price is a consultant in infectious diseases and general medicine, according to the trusted Guys and St Thomas NHS website, with more experience in infection prevention and control.

Professor Nicholas Hart is the director of the Lane Fox Respiratory Service in the trust of Boys and Saint Thomas, and professor of respiratory and critical care medicine at King’s College London.

He has experience in home mechanical rehabilitation and ventilation with chronic respiratory failure, according to his profile.
