JOHN McAreavey has welcomed a son with his wife Tara Brennan.
The tireless activist, who lost his first wife Michaela in 2011, posted a photo of the new addition to his family on social media.
He captioned the image of himself as Tara with the boy saying, “Let the adventures begin, James.”
The adorable baby is the couple’s first child, who tied the knot in a private ceremony in Kildare in 2016.
They only announced their happy news three months ago during a romantic trip to Donegal.
Fans flocked to John’s Instagram page to congratulate the couple on the birth of their son.
The happy couple met in 2012, at an event commemorating his late wife Michaela. She was tragically murdered while on her honeymoon with John in Mauritius in 2011.
‘BEAUTIFUL RELATIONSHIP’
John recently spoke with Pat Kenny about finding love again with Tara after losing Michaela so tragically.
He said: “I think people sometimes think that when you have suffered because of the way I have suffered, maybe you just have to continue to be clouded by negative energy and you have to live your life in a certain way, almost victimized. , but the reality is that life has gone very well for me ”.
Speaking before the birth of baby James, John recounted how he was glad to become a father.
John added: “I was able to find Tara and we had a beautiful relationship and now we are about to have an addition to our family and it is something I am very grateful for and very excited about that. . “
Michaela, the daughter of Tyrone’s former manager Mickey Harte, was just 27 years old when she was murdered.
Two hotel workers, Avinash Treebhoowoon and Sandip Moneea, were charged with the murder but later acquitted.
John has said that he will never stop fighting for justice for the young master, and he even launched a podcast to draw attention to the murder.
