Joe Wicks says he will return to his physical education class on Monday after undergoing hand surgery.

The 33-year-old Body Coach star, whose fitness sessions on his YouTube channel have become a confinement sensation with children, has been updating fans with his progress while in hospital.

He said the surgery ended and paid tribute to the NHS.

“The cables were removed … I was infected,” he said in a video on Instagram Stories.

“I’m staying tonight to take … antibiotics and a little more acetaminophen, then I’ll be home tomorrow morning, back to my family.

“So we’ll see you Monday morning, PE with Joe.”

Earlier, Wicks, who is donating money raised from his online physical education lessons to the NHS, posted a video of himself “dressed” in “socks on” and awaiting his operation.

He said the pain from the “infection” in his hand was “throbbing and pulsing like hot liquid magma.”

Wicks said he was “super appreciative of the health system we have” and “the NHS people here are still grafting.”

Wicks also said that his wife would help on Monday.

“I just asked my lovely wife Rosie to help me on Monday morning and she kindly agreed,” he said.

“She is out of her comfort zone, but she is my best friend and she knows how much this means to me.”

“I don’t want to disappoint anyone, but I don’t think I can demonstrate a lot of exercises, so I’ll have Rosie on camera with me.”

Wicks added: “I will still lead the session and guide you through it.”

“I’ll have Rosie demonstrate the movements.”

Wicks fractured his hand in late March after falling off a bicycle.

He was admitted to the hospital on Friday.
